004: Becoming Unstoppable In Your Business

"My booking numbers are different from last year. I'm not letting this stop me from continuing to provide the best experience my clients are going to have. I will not cry over it any longer. I put my big girl pants on and will take action. I will continue to show up and educate potential clients on what I offer because what I offer is amazing.. and I am amazing. I will look at real numbers to compare to last year and not feelings. I will make an effort to network and find other like minded business owners who are ready to push through the storm. I will revisit posts from last year to see what has changed. I will create more engaging content. I will reach out to past clients to ask for referrals. I am staying the course. I got this. It's an opportunity to make changes."
Those are not my words.  I actually borrowed those from one of my students.  That woman is unstoppable.  I had outlined this podcast & had a totally different intro for you, but when I read that, it went so beautifully with what I’m sharing with you, that I threw my intro away & traded it for hers.
This woman is going to do big things.  And as I get into the podcast today, you will see that she met everyone of the “requirements” for becoming unstoppable.
Release the need for external validation before taking action.
A client doesn’t have to sign on with you for you to take action.
A sale doesn’t need to happen.
Someone doesn’t need to join your email list, download your freebie, sign up for your class, book an appointment.
Your social media doesn’t have to pop off.
As soon as you need for those things to happen, you are giving your power away to other people & outside circumstances.
You have to decide whether you are the passenger or the driver.
Are you driving this car or are you sitting in the backseat, letting someone else press the gas, turn the steering wheel, decide how fast or how slow you’ll get to your destination.
No!  Put yourself back in the driver’s seat.
You don’t need people to move before you take action in your business.
Create the campaign, collaborate with industry experts, invest in a coach, buy the software, create the sales page.

Stop looking for evidence that it will work.

You don’t need evidence to believe that your business is going to explode! Faith is believing without seeing. If you are waiting on evidence before you become the business woman you need to be, your success will be stifled. It will be on again, off again. You will be tossed around like a tiny boat in the ocean.
You get to wake up every morning & DECIDE that it will work & show up like it!
If you wake up just hoping something will happen today, you will not move powerfully.
But if you wake up & DECIDE that it gets to work for you AND act in that belief, you will see success.  It might not be that day.  It might not be the next day.  But you’ll have a better chance of seeing it than someone who sits & just hopes it will happen.

Make the bold moves first.  You lead, they follow.

People want a leader.  They want to work with someone who is confident, not someone who questions their every move.  When you move in confidence, they will follow.
But remember step one - you can’t move then as soon as there’s no evidence, you fall back.  Here’s where your resilience is built.  You make another bold move.  And another one.
Here’s where I see a lot of my students get tripped up.  Before you can make the big, bold moves, you gotta make the small, consistent boring moves.
I had to get really real with myself, not too long ago.  And I decided that if I couldn’t lead myself, then how could I expect to be able to lead others?
So I committed to daily consistent actions.  I did things on Tuesdays that I decided I would do the Sunday before when I was planning my week, even though I didn’t want to do the Tuesday thing.
I showed up when I said I would, how I said I would.  I had to show up for myself with integrity.  If my calendar said it, I had to do it.  Of course, I am not perfect by any means, but I do give it my best shot every day!
So if you struggle with this, start small.  Drink your water.  Put your phone down when you say you will.  Post to social media when you plan to.  Return the calls, send the emails, follow up, get up when your alarm goes off.  Become self-led in the small things.  It will make the bold moves you need to make a little bit easier.

Protect momentum at all costs.

Oh the joys of entrepreneurship, right?!  If you want to be UNSTOPPABLE, you have to remain steady.  Pushing crazy hard & then disappearing for days, weeks or months once you got what you came for does nothing good for you or your brand.
When you get some momentum going, stay on top of the wave.  Otherwise you will be starting & stopping & starting all over again from the bottom.  It’s harder to build that momentum back up from the bottom.  You don’t have to go hard all the time.  There will be these sprint-like periods in your business.  That’s normal.  But you gotta know what your steady pace looks like & get back there.

Understand your YES so that you can say NO to the things that don’t align with it.

All entrepreneurs have a vision of what they want to create, the results they are after & the life they want to design.  The problem is that we forget to remind ourselves of it.  There is so much noise & information that we consume on a daily basis, that it is actually possible to forget why we are doing our thing & what we are trying to accomplish.
If you keep that YES front & center, you won’t be tempted to say yes to the wrong things.  In fact, it will make the wrong things so much easier to say NO to.
If you get a job opportunity & it doesn’t align with your yes, but you say to it anyway, you’ve taken time, energy & attention from your vision.
If you get invited to a dinner out & you know there will be people there who like to gossip & are just negative all the time, but you’ve decided this is your growth era, you gotta say no to that dinner, otherwise that will creep into your business & your life.
If you let a client's appointment run long & you make a habit out of it, you are taking time, energy & attention from your family, your health, your long term goals.
Boundaries are set by leaders for a reason, to protect their YES.
Being unstoppable means honoring your boundaries, saying no when you need to so that there is room for your yes.

Becoming UNSTOPPABLE is a combination of mindset & strategy.

You have to be able to reframe your thoughts, not get knocked on your rear by your emotions & stay focused on what you want to accomplish instead of letting the distractions of life get you off course.
That’s why I designed my business workshop, Unstoppable You, so that you can get more of what matters done.  If you’re listening to this in real time, I am teaching it live tomorrow, Wednesday, June 24th at noon EST.  If you’re listening to this episode later, no worries.  You can still watch it & download the workbook at www.jenagoldencoaching.com/unstoppable.
